Wherein the first step is to simply do.

It seems so easy to act kind to another and yet, the actual action can be hard to start. We want to be nice, we want to think of ourselves as conscientious and helpful but when it comes right down to it, there's a risk.

What if the person I am kind do doesn't respond the way I expect?

It's very true that you could hold the door for someone and discover they are a bit of a grump or your gift of a free coffee is greeted with confusion or skepticism? Well that's the reality and the chance for rejection or other negative reactions is real but if we think about it, are we really doing this for the thanks or are we doing it to truly be nice to someone? Selflessness is the key to true acts of kindness and the practice helps each of us become more confident in our actions as well as more aware of all the individuals we meet and the struggles they are facing.

Take a Deep Breath and then Just Do It!

So as you are getting ready to try your first Random Act of Kindness remember, the magic is in the doing. Take that breath, light up your magnificent smile and go do it. It will be over in a blink and you will know that you have made someone's day just that much easier and maybe even happier. You may even inspire them to act with kindness at the next opportunity they get.

As with all great things, they start with a single step.

Remember, Do More Good Always!
